"Using computers to evoke feelings of nature has always been really interesting to me, I think there's something deep in our subconscious that immediately knows how to interpret nature imagery, be it with comfort, fear, or something indescribable, like the feeling you get watching the sun shine down on a tree, casting a shadow of each individual branch and leaf onto the tree next to it.

I think Nym's vision for this video aligned perfectly with my own, in a way that I have only ever experienced on this project. The theme of regrowth in a dying land is one I carry with me in almost all of my projects. To me this is an exploration of what it's like to be a caring person in an uncaring world, a sentiment that can be reflected in both optimism and pessimism.

The spark could represent many things in the video, life, death, past, future. To me the spark represents the power to accomplish something. A feeling that can either feel so real that you could imagine holding it in your hands, or so distant that it may as well be imaginary.

There are a few key aspects to the design of the character: The stars on the cloak are somewhat reminiscent of a wizard, this plays well with the spark, acting as the spark of magic at the end of a magic wand. The other is the sandals, and the mask, things that imply, to me, a sense of insecurity in your environment. Even with the power to create mountains, this character is more comfortable in house shoes."
